Hong Kong’s rising heat and humidity put dogs at high risk of overheating, as they cool down much slower than humans šŸ•.

Heat stroke can hit any dog and become fatalšŸ”„. Flat-faced, long-haired, senior, overweight dogs and those with chronic illnesses are most at risk, so prevention is vital.

āœ… Dog safety tips:

ā–Ŗļø Walk early morning or late evening to avoid midday heat šŸŒ…šŸŒ‡

ā–Ŗļø Never leave dogs unattended in cars or enclosed spaces šŸš—āŒ

ā–Ŗļø Always offer fresh water and shaded, ventilated rest areas šŸ’§šŸŒ³

ā–Ŗļø Limit outdoor exercise above 29°C and 60% humidityšŸ”„

Bring your dog to the vet immediately if you spot heat stress or severe heat stroke signs🩺. Early cooling and professional treatment greatly improve survival chancesšŸ§ŠšŸ„.

Heat stroke is dangerous but fully preventable with proper care. Let’s keep dogs safe this summer šŸ’–šŸ¾!
