Enjoy this festive time with your family and pets! While you savour rice dumplings and watch dragon boat races, always look after your furry companions to keep them safe and comfortable all holiday long.

⏰ 4 Essential Pet Safety Tips for the Festival:

❌ Never feed rice dumplings to pets 🥟

Glutinous rice is hard to digest. Heavy seasonings, excess oil, salt and fatty fillings trigger pancreatitis and damage liver & kidneys. Fillings including shallots, garlic, pork and salted egg yolks are toxic for cats and dogs.

🪢 Secure bamboo leaves & dumpling strings

Chewed and swallowed wrappers or strings cause choking and life-threatening intestinal blockages. Clear all leftovers right after eating.

☀️ Prevent heat stroke outdoors

Intense sun and high temperatures lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Always bring shade and fresh water; never leave pets unattended inside hot cars.

🏡 Create a quiet safe retreat spot

Loud dragon boat drums and crowds of guests easily stress pets. Offer a calm private space for them to hide and relax.

⚠️ Celebrate the festival responsibly and follow these safety tips, so your fur babies can enjoy a happy, healthy Tuen Ng with you! 💙🐾
