Ocular problems in cats and dogs are often overlooked, especially for pets that go outdoors or come into contact with debris and other animals. Common issues include conjunctivitis and keratitis. Delayed treatment can lead to corneal damage, vision loss, or even blindness, so vigilance is essential.

Vet-recommended care tips:

✅ Take your cat or dog to the vet immediately if there are signs such as excessive tearing, redness, frequent eye rubbing, or abnormal discharge. Do not use medication without professional advice.

✅ Use an Elizabethan collar during treatment to prevent your pet from scratching its eyes and worsening the condition. Do not remove the collar at any time during treatment.

✅ Clean the area around your pet’s eyes regularly with warm water to reduce bacterial buildup, and avoid exposing them to dirty environments or unfamiliar animals.

✅ Follow the vet’s instructions and complete the full course of medication. Do not stop using the medication arbitrarily.

⚠️ Important Note: Delayed treatment of ocular issues can significantly increase the risk of vision loss. Early diagnosis and treatment are crucial for your pet’s eye health.
